Rwanda and Qatar Sign Agreement to Boost Military Training and Cooperation

The Rwandan Defense Forces (RDF) and the Qatar Armed Forces have signed a new agreement to strengthen their partnership. This agreement focuses on training RDF personnel, sharing knowledge, and improving aviation expertise.

The signing took place on Wednesday, further deepening the strong and friendly relationship between the two nations. Brigadier General Celestin Kanyamahanga signed for Rwanda, while Sheikh Jabor Bin Hamad Al Thani, head of Qatar Aviation College, represented Qatar.

This partnership brings valuable knowledge to the RDF, especially in the field of aviation. The aim is to enhance RDF’s professionalism and effectiveness in aerial operations.

In August 2024, RDF Military Police took part in intensive training with Qatar’s support. They focused on military police duties and enhancing their skills to respond to security challenges.

The training gave participants the latest tools to fight terrorism and promote peace, both in Rwanda and beyond. This collaboration shows the strong bond between Rwanda and Qatar and their shared commitment to security and defense growth.
